University of Cyprus

The University of Cyprus is the first public research university established in Cyprus. It admitted its first students in 1992 and has approximately 7000 students enrolled on courses at the university, studying a range of different degree programmes across eight faculties. UCY aims to establish itself as a pioneer research institution achieving international scientific recognition in European Higher Education, offering competitive programmes of study, as well as becoming a centre of excellence in the wider Euro-Mediterranean Region. The University is a vigorous community of scholars engaged in the generation and diffusion of knowledge. Despite its brief history, the University of Cyprus has earned the respect of the international academic community and the appreciation of the Cypriot society.

The Department of Architecture (ARCH) is one of the four departments of the School of Engineering at the University of Cyprus. Considering that design is the common factor in all conceptual or other subdivisions or categories, the four basic areas of study are: architectural theory and history, architectural communication media, architectural technology, and urban design.

The Department of Business and Public Administration is one of the founding Departments of the University of Cyprus.  Since its formation in 1992, its major goals are to prepare the new business leaders that would innovate in this complex business environment and achieve international recognition as a center of excellence in business research.

Cyprus University of Technology

The Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) is a state university in Cyprus established in 2004 aiming to complement the expertise of the University of Cyprus with a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses focused in technology. CUT’s research and academic staff is involved in various research activities, National and European Programmes and Projects. 

The Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts currently has 15 academic staff and 20 PhD students and researchers with diverse backgrounds in areas related to human computer interaction, computer- supported collaborative learning, multimedia design, 3D animation, visual communication, information design, virtual reality, information seeking and social networks. The department’s philosophy involves users in the innovation process through adopting user-centred approaches including participatory design and design thinking processes. The user perspective is a fundamental aspect in the DSI programme. Teaching at the department involves user-centred, open-innovation, and co-creation of innovations in real-world contexts.
